What traders say after sitting at the desk

These notes come from setup reviews, foundations workshops, and chart circle members. Names shortened unless permission granted to publish in full.

The volume filter section hurt my ego. I had been ignoring declining bars on pullbacks for months. Krit marked three of my five charts as fail on volume alone. Uncomfortable, but cheaper than learning it in live P&L.

— Apinya T., setup review, January 2025

Foundations was dense for two hours. I wanted one more worked example on failed breakouts. Still, I use the checklist every Sunday scan now.

— Marcus L., foundations workshop, November 2024

Chart Circle keeps me honest. Presenting to three peers is scarier than trading small size. The pass/fail vote at the end is blunt and useful.

— Wei H., circle member since 2023

Printed charts feel old-fashioned until you try to draw an invalidation line on a glossy monitor with your finger. Paper slows the argument down in a good way.

— Danai R., second setup review, June 2025

Case note: Three-setup review before earnings season

Client: Priya S. · Session: Swing setup review · April 2025

Priya arrived with five Thai consumer names marked for swing entries ahead of quarterly results. She wanted confirmation that her stops were placed beyond structural lows, not arbitrary percentages.

During the desk session we eliminated two names immediately on higher-timeframe trend conflict. A third failed the volume filter — accumulation bars were absent on the pullback. The remaining two passed all filters; we spent the final hour tightening entry zones and writing invalidation notes in the workbook margin.

Priya later emailed that she passed on the volume-fail name before earnings and avoided a gap-down through her original stop. She rebooked for a follow-up review after the season with a shorter watchlist.

Case note: From solo scanning to circle membership

Client: Jonas K. · Programme: Weekly chart circle · 2024–2025

Jonas traded US ADRs from Bangkok for two years without a review partner. He joined Chart Circle after a foundations workshop and presented his first setup — a semiconductor name with a loose stop.

Peers questioned whether the stop sat inside a weekly congestion zone. Jonas moved it wider, which reduced his size but kept the trade alive through a shakeout. He now treats the monthly presentation slot as a deadline to finish chart markup he would otherwise postpone.

His reservation: Friday mornings clash with occasional client calls. He uses the once-per-quarter seat transfer when travel interrupts.
